Requirements To Become A
Foster Parent

To become Foster Parent, you must meet the following criteria:

Must be at least 21 years of age
Consent to a criminal background check
May be single, married, or divorced
May own or rent a home
Have a home meeting the standards of licensing requirements

If you are approved, you will receive training and payments to help meet the daily needs of the child or children placed in your care. Foster children will also receive medical coverage through Medicaid.
